Classic Tomato Pasta Sauce
Ingredients
| olive oil - 2 tablespoons | |
| brown onion - 1 | |
| salt | |
| tin chopped tomatoes | |
| tomato puree | |
| Garlic - 3 | |
| honey - 0.5 tablespoon | |
| dried basil | |
| pasta |
Method

Dice onion. Heat the olive oil in a medium saucepan and then add the onion. Cook the onion and salt, stirring, for 5-8 minutes until golden and starting to lightly brown. |

Add the canned tomatoes, tomato paste, garlic, and some water and stir well. Cover the pot part way and bring to a simmer. Cook for 20 minutes. |

Add the basil & honey and stir well. Add more water if the mixture is too thick. Cook for a further 10-15 minutes over medium heat. |

Serve over your favourite pasta, with or without a few chopped fresh herbs or parmesan cheese on top. |
